I had plenty of favourite moments at today’s French Car Festival. I’m not known as a Bonnets-Up kind of guy, but this sight of a GM LS1 V8 crammed into the engine bay of a club member’s Peugeot 505 was one of them. It quickly drew a crowd. Not having attended for a number of years now, it was amazing to see young guys enjoying their 205 GTIs a generation-and-a-half after their forebears and heart-warming to see the unbridled enthusiasm of members of the public. They were a much less reserved lot than the many thousands more who attended the Classic Car Show at Ascot earlier in the year.
